Classic boats take to Lake Talbot

Recent stories

The Classic Australian Wooden Power Boat Association returned to Narrandera’s Lake Talbot Tourist Park for its 2023 Annual General Meeting again this year, upholding a tradition lasting more than 20 years.

The club said Narrandera was a great central point for the meeting of its national membership.

“During the weekend many local boaters and hot rod enthusiasts joined in sharing stories about the history of some of our older boats,” said Classic Australian Wooden Power Boat Association President Darren Goldberg.

“This year we had many boats built between 1950’s through to mid-1970’s either meticulously restored or in original condition. Their owners are passionate about their boats history and maintaining that history for the next generation.”

The Classic Australian Wooden Power Boat Association is made up of enthusiasts from all over Australia. While they don’t have to own a wooden power boat to become a member, only full wooden and appropriate cross-over boats are permitted at these gatherings.
