2024 calendar released

Recent stories

The cover of the newly released Maldon Museum 2024 calendar is a photograph of a beautiful watercolour of the Beehive Mine by David Relph Drape.

Drape, who arrived in Maldon late 1858 was a stained glass artist and architect of some note in England. During his time here, he produced several watercolours and pencil images of Maldon. He also designed several buildings, including the Beehive Chimney, Holy Trinity Church and the Maldon Hospital, before taking up a position as Senior Stained Glass artist at ‘Ferguson & Urie’ in North Melbourne in 1863.

The Maldon Museum has a unique photograph collection and the calendar has a distinctive photograph of Maldon for each month. The photos featured cover a broad range of subjects and date from 1875 through to 1932.

Making an ideal Christmas gift, the calendars are available from the Museum or by ringing 0427 752 598, and are also in stock at Maldon Newsagency. They are offered in two sizes and cost just $15 (A4) or $8 (A5).
