Maldon Football Netball Club, Tarrangower Times
Overview
Over the weekend we had Under 14.5s have an impressive win for the semi-final against Trentham – which sets them up nicely for the next finals clash. Senior football unfortunately didn’t get over the line with a win and have now dropped out of the finals campaign for 2023 as is B Grade losing what was an epic game to Natte Bealiba.
We now have Under 14.5, Under 17.5 football and Under 15s and Under 17s representing our Club next weekend in the final games before the Grand final! The Club encourages its supporters to head over to Princess Park this weekend and support both our junior footballers and netballers.
Under 14.5
- Maldon 11.13.79 Trentham 0.0.0
Maldon and Trentham faced off in the 2nd Semi-final on Sunday. Trentham battled hard all game, but it was Maldon who came away with a big win in the end.
Best: Jack Smith, Riley Davey, Tadgh Cananzi, Aihen Turner, Tom Hamilton, Francis Walls.
Senior Football
A disappointing way to bow out on the weekend in what has been a solid building season. Trentham played very well and we struggled to match their intensity.
Best: Tanner Bishop, Jordy Collins, Brodie Leonard Shannon.
B Grade (Final report)
- Maldon 30 def by Natte Bealiba 35
Well, what a season we had. A huge congratulations to our B grade team for making finals for season 2023.
The girls started strong and had a wonderful lead. Natte came back at us in the 3rd that saw them have fresh legs and momentum. At the start of the 4th, it was goal for goal, unfortunately, Natte took the lead and never let go. It was wonderful to get our captain back out on the court in Kirsten Cain, who had been missing through injury. Once again, Katey Cutlack had a great shot out scoring 29 of the 30 goals scored.
