From the President

Welcome to the 2023 Texas Show!

On behalf of the Texas Show Committee, I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all Texans, visitors, exhibitors, and participants to this year’s eagerly awaited Texas Show.

Our Show holds a special place on our calendar, embodying the values and traditions that have shaped our region for generations. It is a time-honoured occasion where our community comes together to showcase their skills, talents, and achievements in a variety of categories, ranging from agriculture and horticulture to arts and crafts, livestock and so much more.

Our Junior Showgirls, Maddi and Mikayla, have been excelling in their role of promoting Ag Shows and raising funds to enhance your Texas Show experience. Camp-drafting returns for a two-day event building upon a very successful program last year. The performing animal act “Rooftop Express” will entertain us over the weekend and have thrilled many large crowds around Australia recently. Whyalla Feedlot are supplying their finest products for your BBQ cravings. The bar is open until late for your refreshments and catching up with old and new friends.

The “Honky Tonk Rodeo” crew are back to showcase the rough and tumble of bucking bull action before the fireworks blow up into a spectacular light and sound display. “Gold Creek” band returns Saturday night supported by local acts and house music through the afternoon. Get your bling on for the decorated bike parade the Ute Competition. Start getting fit for our Tough Texan Challenge.

Woodchopping is back with some exciting new demo events and the kids can explore our “Treasure Hunt” beach dig that was hugely popular last year. This year Texas Show promises something for everyone.

To our sponsors, volunteers, and all those who have contributed their time, resources, and expertise to make this event possible, we extend our deepest gratitude. Your support demonstrates the amazing community spirit that defines Texas and ensures that our Local Show endures for future generations to enjoy.

So, let us come together as a community and explore the emotion and experiences that the Texas Show has to offer.
