Under 17s netballers defend State crown

Recent stories

Narrandera Netball Association has just wrapped up their representative season.

This season Narrandera had four teams plus a team of training partners. The four teams competed in several carnivals across NSW with mixed success, but always coming away with more experience.

It is the first year NNA has entered an Opens team in carnivals and the association looks to building on that foundation into the future.

The Opens team were plagued with injury but still turned up and gave their heart and soul to competing.

They were highly respected and liked by their competitors and definitely competed always in the spirit of the game. They gave every game at the 2023 HART Senior State Age Titles in Newcastle their all and were always smiling.

The NNA U13s finished their season with the Griffith Representative Carnival after a huge year. The girls learnt a lot, made some great friends and all grew personally and with their netball skills.

It was another fabulous season for NNA U15s – with only three girls from last year’s program in the team it was a year of rebuilding and growing these players. The girls had a terrific bond, really supported each other at every event. Their skill level improved with every carnival.

They competed at 2023 HART Senior State Age Titles in Division 3, across three days in Newcastle. The girls did so well and they never dropped their spirit, giving everything they had to the last buzzer.

The 2023 Representative season for NNA U17s was another great year. There were two newcomers to the team and three stepped up from the 2022 U15s to join five of the girls from last year’s team.

They gelled from dayone and all combined to make a very cohesive team, building on their skills and team spirit across the season.

NNA U17s won Cowra and Bathurst Representative carnivals in the leadup to State Titles.

The NNA U17s felt a bit of pressure going into 2023 HART Senior State Age Titles Division 4 as defending title holders.

They had some very hard games, only dropping one game against Temora, but having wins against the two top teams by one goal each game, saw them come out as winners of the 2023 HART Senior State Age Titles Division 4.

Organisers are so proud of the representative program that is run at Narrandera Netball Association.

The community, not only with the girls, but also the great friendships with the parents. This support from everyone is truly appreciated.

Success at state titles for netballers
