A wall of Kindness helps people give and receive

Recent stories

A Kindness Wall was revealed at the Casino Neighbourhood Centre.

The wall provides clothes for the people who need them and was set up by Momentum Collective.

Richmond Valley mayor Robert Mustow, councillor Patrick Deegan and more than 50 residents were at the neighbourhood centre for the opening of the Kindness Wall today, Friday, December 2.

The first Kindness Wall was launched outside Momentum Collective’s Tweed Heads Head Office earlier this year.

Momentum Collective’s service manager Fiona Miller was keen for a wall after witnessing the effects of the covid pandemic and the flooding events earlier this year.

“Our team has seen a substantial need for a community initiative like the Kindness Wall in our Casino community which is available 24/7,” Ms Miller said.

“With the perfect motto, Leave one if you can. Take one if you need, the wall provides an opportunity for people who can help and a great way for people in need to have some essential items.”

As the holiday season approaches, residents increasingly require extra support for essential items such as food and summer clothing, Ms Miller said.

The Kindness Wall is at the Momentum Collective Casino Neighbourhood Centre at 138 Canterbury Street, Casino, and is available 24/7.
