Former Aussie netballer to hold clinic in Narrandera

Recent stories

Former Australian Diamond and SP Netball Founder Susan Pettitt is coming to Narrandera to run a clinic for 6-12 year olds at the Narrandera Netball Courts.

Susan Pettitt (nee Prately) represented Australia in the 21/Under Team from 2003-2005. She began her Diamonds journey in 2006, playing the Commonwealth Games (silver) and continued to be a part of an impressive Diamonds lineup; winning the 2007 World Championships and receiving silver in the 2010 and 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Susan joined the Sydney Swifts in 2006, taking the role of Vice-Captain for 2012 and 2013.

With an ability to shoot from anywhere in the circle, her role in the 2006 Commonwealth Bank Trophy premiership was integral, becoming the first person to achieve a 100 per cent accuracy in a grand final.

Susan has been running SP Netball Clinics for over 15 years now and operates a well-regarded coaching program provided by one of Australia’s best shooters retiring in 2018 with an average of 85 per cent.

She grew up in Bega and started playing netball when she was eight years old, beginning her representative netball career playing for Sapphire Coast from the age of 12.

After being identified at NSW state level she took up a netball scholarship at the Australian Institute of Sport and began playing at the elite level of Australian domestic netball.

She reached the pinnacle in her sport and is recognised as one of the top goal shooters in Australia, having been a member of the Australian Diamonds from 2006-2018; including one World Championship and three Commonwealth Games.

Susan retired in 2018 with 71 Test Caps for Australia. Passionate about giving back to the game that gave her so much, she does this via her SP Netball Clinics and as a Board Member of the South Coast Blaze. Narrandera’s clinic will be held December 2.
