9 and 10 September – Tickets available now

Across two jam-packed days on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 September, central Victoria’s creative capital will host a convergence of creative forces, people and ideas in action for Conflux Bendigo.

Bendigo’s thriving arts precinct will be the meeting point for an inspiring group of creative collaborators to deliver a bold, diverse and exciting program of panel discussions, masterclasses, practitioner presentations, thought-provoking conversations, workshops, installations and performances.

This year’s event theme explores ‘A Brave New World’ exploring the role that creativity plays in driving innovation and how creatives can harness and drive emerging technology and themes to deliver ground-breaking new works. Hub Manager David Hughes said the aim is to generate a discussion around what the future of creative practice looks like.

“Covid has been the great disrupter, challenging norms around how we create, collaborate, consume and interact with creative output. We want to reflect on how we have adapted, think about what we have learned and use this to look at what the future holds for creative practitioners and their audiences”.

Conflux brings together diverse cultural and creative industry practitioners alongside policymakers and other stakeholders to drive this conversation. Contributors include a leading group of creative managers and influencers from Malthouse Theatre, Just Another Agency, CreateA Arts Company, The Dax Centre, NIDA, Arena Theatre, Oak Magazine Endgame Podcast, Punctum Inc, Hebron Films, Skin of Our Teeth Productions, Barking Spider Visual Theatre and Nacho Station.

These speakers will be joined by visual artists such as Baby Guerrilla, Thalia Stanton, Troy Firebrace and Janet Bromley, along with legends of literature Kristen Gill, Jenny Valentish, Anna Burkey, KJ and Ben Eltham.

A series of live music performances from musicians Jae Laffer, Louisa Terra, Geoffrey Williams, and Eliza Hull will add to the creative energy of Conflux Bendigo, while those seeking more tangible outcomes can access workshops designed to elevate their creative practice including developing a roadmap for a creative career, defining and developing partnerships, rethinking creative work and finding financial pathways to sustain creative practice.

Conflux Bendigo is the place for artistic minds from across the State to come together in the creative capital of regional Victoria to explore the future of Victoria’s creative industries.

Conflux Bendigo takes place on Dja Dja Wurrung country on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 September. Tickets are available now at www.emporiumcreativehub.com.au/confluxtickets.
