A celebration of our region’s most talented up-and-coming performers, the event was originally scheduled to be held at the Maclean Showground, until the persistent wet weather forced a last-minute switch to an indoor setting.

Organiser Nash Crofton acknowledged the Maclean Bowling Club for their kind offer to host the event, adding Clarence Tunes was tremendously well received by the community who embraced the opportunity to see our local singers and songwriters shine on stage.

“The response Clarence Tunes received from the whole community was amazing,” he said.

“Everyone who was there on the night was really happy and said it was crazy good.

“The performers were also really happy with how the event turned out and they were so grateful for the opportunity to perform live locally.

“Everyone had a great time.”

13 performers including KillSwitch, Sophie Newton and Paige Thompson, ZAM, Zion Edgar and Olivia Hinde dazzled and delighted the cheering crowd with their amazing vocals and musical skills in an incredible display.

Following the initial success of Clarence Tunes over the weekend, Nash said he is feeling confident the event will return in 2023.

“We’d definitely love to do it again, and so would the performers,” he said.

“We’d love for it to be an annual event.”

Nash also wished to extend his appreciation to the events sponsors including Clarence Coast Theatrical Society, Allison Whaites Estate Agent, Crofton Productions and Live Prawn Productions Inc.
