Minister Hinchliffe MP visits the South Burnett, opens bicycle museum

Queensland Government Minister for Tourism and Sport, Stirling Hinchliffe MP visited the South Burnett on Saturday 6 November 2021.

Minister Hinchliffe opened Blackbutt’s new Bicycle Building School and Museum, the brainchild of renowned Penny Farthing historian, Mr Brett Richardson.

Brett recently moved to the South Burnett having retired from TAFE Queensland where he taught in the industry area of bicycles, setting up his business in Blackbutt because of the proximity to the popular rail trail.

The Minister also joined Mayor Brett Otto and Councillors Kathy Duff and Kirstie Schumacher in meeting with Local Tourism Organisation, Visit South Burnett.

“Discussions with the Minister were very productive”, the Mayor said, outlining the many opportunities our region offers. Minister Hinchliffe outlined a range of Queensland Government programs available to support regional tourism.
