Rowe family exits

Recent stories

The Rowe family has brought to a close 70 years of ownership of prime Merino breeding property Wolhalla, selling the 5,056 hectare Flinders Ranges parcel for $2.78 million.

A local seeking expansion bought the property, located 12 kilometres south of Hawker, in the Wilson Valley between the Black Jack and Yappala Ranges.

Tim Wooley from Nutrien Harcourts handled the sale. It was offered with 925 breeding ewes, 360 ewe weaners plus 18 rams, and small working plant.

Wolhalla is suited to breeding, wool production and cattle, and carries an estimated 1,700 breeders plus replacements.

Bullock bush, black oak, acacia victoria and native pine shelter belts are present, with vegetation stands of bluebush and salt bush and winter burr clover, bindii, barley grass, button grass and herbage.

Improvements include a large steel-framed shearing shed with steel drafting yards and loading facilities, while the property is watered by four bores, a well and seven dams.
