As a part of the School Holiday Program, local band The Last Resort has been performing series of gigs at different Town Camps each evening.
Intended to help keep the kids off the streets, the gigs have been well attended by families and supported by Elders and community organisations.
Starting on Monday, they performed at Mulga Camp, Tuesday was the turn of Wuppa Camp, Village Camp on Wednesday and Karguru Camp on Thursday.
The band members were happy enough to let some of the kids have a go on the drums and be part of the fun, but there were also dance competitions and musical chairs to keep the vibe going. For those who didn’t feel like dancing, there was basketball and soccer organised by John Moriarty Foundation and Youthlinx, making the events a fun, family-friendly evening for everyone.
If you missed out during the week, there will be one more performance at Purkiss Reserve tomorrow night, to round off the holidays on a high note.
The event starts at 5pm and as well as the band, there will be face painting, jumping castle, a BBQ and an Easter egg hunt, so come along and have a fun night of family entertainment.
