Qantas has now increased the number of weekly return services from seven to 12, allowing same day return on weekdays.
This schedule offers nearly 2,500 seats on the route each week and offers more than 40% extra capacity compared to December 2020.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said the improvement in the flight schedule was a massive win for the region.
“We’ve continued to work with Qantas on getting more options for flying in and out of Geraldton from Perth, as well as more affordable options,” he said.
“We’re seeing some great changes with the flight schedule frequency which is a really positive direction for the future of air travel in the Midwest.
“Recent sale fares between Perth and Geraldton have been as low as $134 one-way and we continue to encourage the community to take advantage of these added services.
“We thank Qantas for continuing to work with us and make changes to ensure realistic options are available,” he added.
In a bid to restore confidence and encourage their customers to fly, Qantas announced a change to their Fly Flex policy, giving customers unlimited flight date changes until at least January 2022.
