Following the impact of COVID-19 in 2020, resulting in the cancellation of the Art Trail last year, the upcoming 2021 Art Trail is sure to boast some wonderful work, and hopes are high for attendance rates as arts-lovers look to fill their ‘art appetites’ following the upheaval experienced by the arts industry and many others in 2020.

ArtSouthWA Chair Merry Robertson is enthusiastic about the year ahead as artists and the ArtSouthWA Board prepare for the 2021 Southern Art and Craft Trail Event.

“Its full steam ahead as we prepare for our 2021 Art Trail,” Ms Robertson said.

“We were pleased to be able to pull together some exciting alternatives for our members and audience including an exhibition, the creation of the Art and Craft Trail map, and the online Southern Art and Craft Trail after our 2020 event was cancelled. Now we look forward to being able to offer artists and craftspeople from throughout our region the opportunity to show their work to an increasing amount of regional tourists and visitors once more this September school holidays.”

The Southern Art and Craft Trail Event regularly features more than 300 artists from more than 20 towns across the greater southern region of WA, bringing connection and creativity to the communities it touches.

In 2021, ArtSouthWA is producing their 18th annual Southern Art and Craft Trail, a popular tourism destination event bringing an estimated 15,000 guests through the doors of artist studios, community venues, business outlets, galleries and more throughout the 16 day event.

Existing and new ArtSouthWA members are encouraged to sign up now to take part in the upcoming event, set to be held at the usual time (September school holidays) barring any extenuating circumstances. Applications close on 1st May 2021.

Information on applying to become an ArtSouthWA member and taking part in the Art Trail is available at artsouthwa.com.au
