Horse healing power to be harnessed
Serena Kirby. A new exercise therapy will soon be available for Denmark children and adults recovering from serious injury or living with physical disabilities and illnesses. The name of the therapeutic practice, hippotherapy, comes from the Greek word ‘hippos’ meaning horse and roughly translates as ‘treatment with help of a horse’.
$1.6 million upgrade for Juno Centre
New accommodation and improved equine facilities are key features of a $1.6 million investment in an agricultural training centre just east of Tennant. The Juno Centre offers residential and in-reach programs to students from across the Territory.
Olympians pitch in for the Pony Club Australia Virtual National Championships
On returning from Tokyo, some of Australia’s top equestrian Olympians have pitched in to help Pony Club Australia with their Virtual National Championships this year. Andrew Hoy, Shane Rose and Kevin McNab took time out of their schedules to record questions for the National Quiz competition. All the Olympians were Pony Club alumni (past members) who have previously shared their enjoyment and knowledge gained from their Pony Club years. Atlanta gold medallist Wendy Schaeffer, who rode her Pony Club horse at the Olympics, also contributed questions.

She has put in a lifetime of hard work and devotion to horse riding, and she attributes much of her success to her time in Pony Club.

Horseman is a show regular
Ken Vary knows a lot about Tabulam and about horses ... Ken is a regular at the Bonalbo Show where he sat watching the horse competitions. In his younger years, Ken mustered and went to rodeos. At 77, he may ride less but he can spot a quality horse with no trouble at all. In 1976 he won Campdraft Horse of the Year at the North Coast National with his horse Gift.
Not sheepish
The Wakool Show was back with a fantastic flurry of fun, food, music and entertainment. This year’s show was rolled into one action packed evening and the community support was fantastic with families coming from Wakool, Moulamein, Koondrook-Barham and Deniliquin.
