Oodnadatta’s annual bronco branding event a resounding success
National Recovery and Resilience Agency Recovery Support Officer in Far North South Australia, Matt Humphrey, was recently lucky enough to enjoy the great sportsmanship and good old outback hospitality at the 36th Oodnadatta Bronco Branding and Campdraft.
Two nights of bucking at Bullride
Weipa's new-look showgrounds facility will come to life on Friday night for the opening of the Weipa Bullride and committee chairman Russell Scikluna can’t wait ... The 2021 edition will be largely different to previous rodeos staged in Weipa. Instead of a cabaret on Friday night, there will be action from the chutes to complement the live band. The program will then expand on Saturday with even more events, followed by a second live band.
Mullewa Agricultural Show returns, 28 August 2021
Baby animals, a quick shearing competition, fireworks, local produce plus live entertainment and tunes are some of the reasons why you should attend the 87th Mullewa Agricultural Show this August. The event attracts hundreds from around the state and it’s no surprise with a diverse program as well as the popular Outback Bloom – Mullewa’s Wildflower Festival taking place during the same week.

Top time had at the Texas Show
A great weekend was had at the Texas Show despite the New South Wales - Queensland border closing on the Friday morning before the show and despite cancellations due to rain ... Nevertheless, there was a great roll up and the local community came together and supported the show.
Sieben dairy parade finalist
Kirstin Nicholson. Georgia Sieben will represent Victoria at the 2021 Agricultural Shows Australia National Young Judges finals. The 18-year-old, who grew up on a farm in Torrumbarry, has been showing and parading at the Cohuna Show with her family from a young age.
Sheep and Wool Show a “no–go”
Kendall Jennings. The annual Australian Sheep and Wool Show (ASWS) that was to be held in Bendigo was cancelled on the eve of the competition last Thursday due to the Victorian snap five-day lockdown. The largest event of its type in the world, stallholders, visitors and organisers were forced into turmoil refunding tickets, returning stock, cancelling accommodation and throwing out food produced for the event. Organisers appealed to the Victorian State Government to allow the event to run without crowds; however, that attempt was rejected.

Annual Kununurra Agricultural Show, 9-10 July 2021
The 2021 show is a grassroots, community focused event. It is the result of the year-long efforts of the local 10 committee members and their families, the Support Officer, an army of over 50 volunteers, tenders and casual workers.
Events postponed, but Show can still go on
The Chief Minister announced Territory Day celebrations across the NT are deferred due to the unfolding COVID situation in Darwin ... Territory Day will go ahead at a later date so we can all celebrate together ... The Alice Springs Show which was due to happen today was cancelled due to the lockdown.
Truck yeah! Casino gets truckin’ again
[CANCELLED on 29 June 2021] The trucks are back. After last year’s truck show was cancelled because of covid, the North Coast Petroleum Casino Truck Show returns to the Casino CBD on Saturday, August 7 ... The team is expecting up to 300 trucks with chrome polished to perfection and some 40 categories to be won including the prestige Tiny Lollback Rig of the Show.
History is only the beginning for Cooktown & Cape York Expo!
Attracting government officials, international dignitaries, visitors and community members from across Cape York and Australia, the Cooktown & Cape York Expo 2021 came to a spectacular close last night with the final performance of the Warrma and a fireworks display over the Endeavour River. The largest event in rural Queensland since the COVID-19 lockdowns, The Cooktown & Cape York Expo 2021 – which ran from 11-20 June – delivered more than 150 events, exhibitions, performances, installations, workshops, and a two-day Dynamic Business Symposium.
Champion turnout at Rocky Show
The 2021 Rockhampton Agricultural Show has proved to be a great success, attracting 33,000 visitors over three days last week. Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said the community has well and truly supported this year’s event. “Whilst the majority of ticket holders were from the local Rockhampton Region, it was wonderful to see outside visitors in attendance, experiencing what our community has to offer," said Mayor Williams.
Ord Valley Muster celebrates 20 years
Over 12,000 event attendees celebrated the return of the nine-day Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster held in Kununurra, Western Australia ... New events added to the program this year included Art in the Park featuring 40 local artists, Storytelling Night around a fire by Miriwoong elder David Newry, and the free family-friendly event, Party in the Park to close the festival ... The nation’s most remote party was headlined by one of Australia’s most successful female artists, Jessica Mauboy, who last performed at the Muster as an up-and-coming 16 year old in 2006.
