133rd Wynyard Show, 18 March 2023

Come and enjoy a family fun day at the 133rd Wynyard Show, the district’s authentic country Show. Marvel at the magnificent livestock, horses, poultry and cage birds on display. See popular woodchopping events and watch carriage driving on the main oval.

Heavy horses and heavy hearts, but the show must go on

The National Clydesdale and Heavy Horse Festival went ahead last weekend with a heavy heart, marred by a road accident on the afternoon before the show began that claimed the life of one of its own ... Organisers however, decided the show must go on and put on a cracker of an event to mark the 15th anniversary since it was first held at Werribee Park in 2008.

Country music show by Dolly’s Dream ambassador

Country music on horseback will rev up Narrandera tomorrow night when multiple Golden Guitar winner, Tom Curtain, rides in to the Narrandera Showground ... Tom is an official ambassador for Dolly’s Dream, and uses his music and shows to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and wellbeing in rural communities.

105th Tyrendarra Agricultural Show, 11 February 2023

The Tyrendarra P&A Show will be running on Saturday 11 February and this year celebrating the 105 years. Again, it will be an amazing show full of entertainment and competitions for the whole family.

Allora Showgirl competition is back!

The call is out - The Allora Show Society is encouraging girls aged between 12 and 19 to enter the Allora Showgirl competition. This year there's been a change with no fundraising required.

Dorrigo Show 2022: It may be over but they’re still celebrating!

Dorrigo’s first show in three years might be over but organisers and officials are still celebrating its quality, success and popularity. Society President, Sally Duckett summed it up this way: “After three tough years of “No Show” forced upon us by Covid 19, 2022 was a huge success; perhaps one of the best ever.”

Labor’s reasons for Ag Shows funding cuts

Murray Watt, Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry has been asked for an explanation as to why the grants have been discontinued and if there is potential for any other funding for the various agricultural societies which run local shows ... 112th Circular Head Show, 26 November 2022

After a two year recess, the 112th Circular Head Show is back! The Show retains all the traditional features you expect of an agricultural show including equestrian events; wood chopping; home industries, dairy and beef cattle competition and the very popular animal nursery; culminating with the Grand Parade at 3pm.

Daylesford Show, 26 November 2022

The Daylesford Show on Saturday November 26th will again feature exhibition of the work of local people who are so proud of what they have produced in the last twelve months, or in this case three years.

Labor cuts Ag Shows funding

Labor has confirmed it is scrapping funding for the Agriculture Shows Development Grants Program. In Estimates week, Agriculture Minister Murray Watt said $14 million in funding for Ag shows was being “reprioritised”. Maranoa MP David Littleproud said Estimates had sadly proved Labor was taking even more money out of regional and rural Australia, with infrastructure funding for Ag shows now gone, including in the electorate of Maranoa.
