113th Mundulla Show, 3-5 March 2023
This year will be the 113th Show which started back in 1913 with no shows in 1943-1945. This year also coincides with Mundulla Township turning 150 in April so we are starting celebrations early.
“Motels” revival “OK” for Charlton
Jenny Pollard. It starts with a road trip and bridges the city / country divide. There’s a playlist for the road and it brings some of the biggest names in indie music to the “bush”. But above all, what makes the “OK Motels Festival” such a hit is the positive focus it brings to Charlton and the energising momentum that results.
TEDx Maldon special event
A one-time special event, set for July 1 2023 during Maldon In Winter, will be the TEDxMaldon talks made up of local people who will share inspiring ideas on the TEDx platform. The program helps communities, organisations, and individuals produce TED-style events at the local level.
Allora Show boxing exhibition
Current Number 1 WBA Oceania Light Heavyweight Champion Conor Wallace from Fortitude Boxing Club Brisbane & local Allora Boxing Club member Rebecca Bolzan at the boxing exhibition which was held on Saturday at the Allora Show.
Tinnie Heroes voted best short film by audience
The hall was packed and all eyes were on the screen at the Bangalow Flickerfest on Saturday, February 18. IndyNR.com presented Tinnie Heroes – a film about the floods.
Precious Moments – the iconic Kangaroo Island Easter Art Exhibition returns in 2023 with a focus on photography and young people
The highly anticipated and community-driven Kangaroo Island Easter Art Exhibition is returning in 2023, and while it is promising to be bigger and better than ever before, the theme of the iconic is graciously titled Precious Moments. The biennial exhibition, which started 35 years ago, has been given a significant boost with the doubling in value of the major prize – the Diana Keir Art Award – honouring the memory of the local artist, friend and muse to many on the Island.

Better than “OK”!
Bouncing back from the flood-enforced cancellation last October, Charlton's "OK Motels" Festival was back with a bigger and better impact as visitors soaked up the relaxed country lifestyle last weekend. With the focus firmly set on “community” and the town presenting an array of add-on activities, there was a tangible feeling of homecoming, as friendships were rekindled, new ones made, and former attendees introducing newcomers to what could viewed as a “lifestyle” event.
Election debate to tackle food future, 22 February 2023: NSW Farmers
Keeping food affordable, renewable energy zones and securing production will feature as part of a key regional debate for voters in Dubbo. Designed to focus on key agricultural issues ahead of the state election, the Dubbo debate on Wednesday night will feature Agriculture Minister Dugald Saunders, Shadow Minister Mick Veitch, Greens spokesperson Sue Higginson, One Nation spokesperson Rod Roberts, and Shooters, Fishers, and Farmers spokesperson Robert Borsak.

I was honoured to get a Hall of Fame Award from the Barastoc Horse of the Year Show committee and I think a pocket history of the show is needed. What other event has had the same naming rights sponsor for 54 years making the name so established it can’t be separated from the title?

Supreme Stud Beef at Show
NIOA Santa Gertrudis Stud at Talgai took home the big prize with Supreme Stud Beef Exhibit of the Allora Show. Leading the bull was Sam Falls from Warwick. Blue Ribbons were also awarded to NIOA for Supreme Bull and Supreme Female.
‘More of everything’ as dates revealed for unique festival
Get your calendars out and highlight these dates if you want to immerse yourself in a Sunshine Coast event like no other. Organisers have confirmed that the 2023 Horizon Festival, a 10-day showcase of culture, music, visual art, theatre, dance, comedy and creative workshops, will return in 2023 from August 25 to September 3.
Kangaroo Valley Show, 17-18 February 2023
After fires, pandemic and floods, the Kangaroo Valley Agricultural and Horticultural Show is on track to return with a vengeance. The two year hiatus has only served to make the community even more welcoming and the organisers even more organised for what is set to be a wonderful two day celebration of life in Australia's most beautiful valley.
New dawn, new day
Large landscape paintings by Liz Sullivan take the viewer on an immersive and close encounter with nature. The works are of vibrant landscapes of green grasses and flooded countryside, reminiscent of the recent flooding experienced in the region.
