Air Force pilot returns to where it all began

FLTLT Kristi Adam. The tiny town of Nhill in the Wimmera region of far west Victoria, was once home to Executive Officer of 100 Squadron, Squadron Leader Samuel da Graca Costa, who recently returned representing Air Force at the Nhill Air Show - flying the CA-25 Winjeel.

Join Nhill’s historic silo project

No-one ever said preserving and restoring a silo complex would be easy. A passionate group of volunteers is working hard towards this goal, spending dozens of hours every month fixing floorboards, replacing rotting wooden posts, and applying for grants.

New recruit “Lance” brings life-saving message

This Volunteer’s Week, visitors to the Kaniva Wetlands and Fauna Park may notice a new addition to the flock: a sheep named Amb-ewe-lance, or Lance for short! Lance is here to promote a crucial message about first aid and community safety.

Broadway calling

Casterton local and Year 10 student at The Hamilton and Alexandra College, Sarah Crowle, is heading to New York City to perform under the bright lights of Broadway. Sarah auditioned at the Victorian Dance Festival, held in Melbourne during April, and received an invitation to attend the New York City Musical Theatre Summer Intensive program.

50 year anniversary – Leeor A Grade

This past weekend, Kaniva Leeor United (KLU) hosted the Leeor Premiership reunion of the 1974 A Grade team. The event, held during KLU’s home game against Pimpinio, drew a large crowd of supporters, including former players and officials from the victorious 1974 team.

New app for Australian Silo Art

Kaniva & District Progress Association were delighted to be invited to help test the Australian Silo Art App last month. The app has just been released to the general public and is available at the App store. KDPA's Helen Hobbs said, "Similar to WikiCamps, it uses your location to show all nearby Silo Art, along with community contributed public art information."
