Minister opens three community sport and recreation projects
West Wimmera Shire Council is pleased to announce the official opening of three significant community projects, marked by a visit from Member for Western Victoria Jacinta Ermacora. The openings were celebrated over two days, highlighting the completion of new recreation- al facilities that were all jointly funded by the State Government, Council and community groups.

Joel Wagg, affectionately known as Waggy, has reached the milestone of 250 senior games with KLUFNC. Debuting in the senior ranks in 2007, Joel has many memorable moments, including kicking seven goals in Padthaway during a hailstorm in 2018.

After successfully campaigning the Victorian State Govt. to continue funding the Overland until 2027, many of us were devastated to see the sudden appearance of the cyclone fence being erected at the Nhill Station on July 18th, 2023, preventing access to the veranda, when waiting to board the Overland or greet folks arriving ... it is pleasing to see Stage 1 of the renovations, has finally begun.

John Williams. Being a Nhill townie, getting to and from High School was a quick bike ride for most of us. Some put boiling water in the handlebars for the chilly Winter ride to the cattle pit gates ... A few took the George Merrett blue and silver town bus, either the GMC or Chevrolet.

This month, book fair volunteers have started sorting through the collection of Vintage, Antique and Classic Books. Sorting vintage and antique are easy. Any hardcover book printed between 1918 and 1978 can be called vintage and any book printed before 1918 can be called antique.
