Broadway calling
Casterton local and Year 10 student at The Hamilton and Alexandra College, Sarah Crowle, is heading to New York City to perform under the bright lights of Broadway. Sarah auditioned at the Victorian Dance Festival, held in Melbourne during April, and received an invitation to attend the New York City Musical Theatre Summer Intensive program.
50 year anniversary – Leeor A Grade
This past weekend, Kaniva Leeor United (KLU) hosted the Leeor Premiership reunion of the 1974 A Grade team. The event, held during KLU’s home game against Pimpinio, drew a large crowd of supporters, including former players and officials from the victorious 1974 team.

New app for Australian Silo Art
Kaniva & District Progress Association were delighted to be invited to help test the Australian Silo Art App last month. The app has just been released to the general public and is available at the App store. KDPA's Helen Hobbs said, "Similar to WikiCamps, it uses your location to show all nearby Silo Art, along with community contributed public art information."
Nhill Hockey Round 2
Round 2 of WHA hockey saw NDSC – Hockey Division come away with good results on a warmish autumn day on the grass at Anzac Park, Warracknabeal. Nhill played against all Dimboola teams, winning two and drawing one.
Nhill’s solar farm takes the next step
The first stage of construction at the Nhill Renewable Energy Facility is due to begin in May 2024. GWMWater awarded a contract to Next Generation Electrical for the works. The facility is GWMWater’s first venture into large scale energy generation with direct connection into the local electricity grid.

ANZAC Day 2024
Nhill’s ANZAC Day dawn service was well attended with over 300 in attendance at the Cenotaph in Goldsworthy Park to commemorate those who have served in the armed forces for Australia and New Zealand, many giving the ultimate sacrifice.
