Warrumbungle Shire Council, Media Release, 29 August 2025

Dalgarno Street, Coonabarabran, will burst into life on Saturday 20 September 2025, as Warrumbungle Bloomfest returns with an evening of light, music, food, and community spirit under the night skies of Australia’s only Dark Sky Park.

Now in its second year, Bloomfest is completely free and family-friendly, making it one of the most accessible festivals in regional NSW. By day, visitors can explore wildflowers blooming across the Warrumbungles and the Pilliga. By night, Dalgarno Street transforms into a vibrant celebration of colour, creativity, and connection.

Highlights of the 2025 program include:

  • Free live music all evening with performances by Tilly Poole, Phat Brass, and local favourites Where’s Dave.
  • Free entertainment by the Coonabarabran Celtic Club Pipes and Drums, Musta Dance Line Dancing, and children’s songs and games.
  • Free workshops and activities for all ages, including painting, badge-making, floral tattoos, posy making, face painting, and more.
  • Interactive light and art displays, with buildings and streets brought to life through projections, a colourful balloon arch photo wall, and a giant 3D chalk artwork by local artist Zac Craig.
  • Delicious food and market stalls, from tacos and Thai to BBQ, gelato, donuts, coffee, handmade gifts, plants, and local art.

Mayor of Warrumbungle Shire Council, Councillor Kathryn Rindfleish, said Bloomfest is fast becoming a must-visit event on the regional calendar. “Bloomfest is where our region shines. We bring together the wildflowers of spring, the wonder of the dark skies, and the creativity of our community in one unforgettable evening. Best of all, it’s a completely free event, so everyone can come and enjoy the entertainment, workshops, and activities.”
