Warwick Credit Union has been rebranded

Warwick Credit Union has officially unveiled its new name – Darling Downs Bank.

This marks an exciting new chapter for this long-standing regional financial institution.

Established in Warwick in 1970, the customer owned bank has grown steadily across Southern Queensland, proudly serving customers in Allora, Dalby, Gympie, Killarney, Inglewood, Warwick, and shortly, Toowoomba. The rebrand to Darling Downs Bank unites all locations under one consistent identity, reinforcing the bank’s ongoing commitment to the region it calls home.

CEO John Ford said “the name change honours the bank’s legacy while positioning it for continued regional growth. It clearly communicates what we do and our community focus”.

At a time when many financial institutions are scaling back their regional footprint by closing branches, Darling Downs Bank is going the other way. “Opening a new branch in Toowoomba later this year is a clear indication that we believe in the growth and potential of regional Queensland,” Chairman Ross Fraser said.

While the name is changing, customers can expect the same personal service, competitive products, and local decision-making that Warwick Credit Union has been known for over the past five decades.

“This rebrand brings our entire network together with one strong, recognisable identity. Whether you’re banking in Allora or Toowoomba, you’re part of something bigger – a bank that understands and is committed to regional life in Southern Queensland,” Mr Ford added.

The Toowoomba branch will officially open in September 2025, with community celebrations to follow as Darling Downs Bank launches its next chapter to the region.
