Recent stories

In an incredible statewide result, the Donald Show has been officially crowned the Third Most Popular Agricultural Show in Victoria in the 2025 VAS Ltd People’s Choice Awards – and what a moment it is for Donald’s proud community!

With 154 public votes, Donald soared into the top three, finishing just behind Whittlesea (1st place with 187 votes) and Noorat (2nd with 172 votes), and beating out powerhouse shows like Bendigo, Kyneton, and Berwick.

This result is more than just numbers – it’s a glowing reflection of the heart, effort, and dedication poured into the Donald Show by volunteers, committee members, sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees. For a regional show to place in the top three across all of Victoria is a huge achievement, and it couldn’t have happened without its passionate local supporters.

Why does your vote matter?

These awards showcase the relevance and impact of country shows in our communities. Every vote is a voice saying, “our show matters”, “our town counts”, and “we’re proud of what we’ve built together”. With continued support, recognition like this helps attract funding, new sponsors, and visitors – ensuring the future of events that bring us together year after year.

The Donald Show committee extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who voted. This is your win, too. Let’s go even bigger next year!

DustyRaiyn represents Wimmera on State stage

The Wimmera was proudly represented on the big stage as DustyRaiyn McIntyre of the St Arnaud Show competed in the 2025 VAS Ltd Junior Show Ambassador State Final, held over last weekend.

DustyRaiyn stood alongside seven of Victoria’s brightest young leaders, each representing their region and local show society with pride, passion, and purpose. While the title was awarded to Charlotte Wigney (Bendigo Show) with Hannah Creevey (Maldon Show) as runner-up, Dusty’s presence was a powerful reminder of the spirit and dedication that thrives in the Wimmera.

Representing the Wimmera Group, DustyRaiyn showcased the values at the heart of agricultural shows – community involvement, youth leadership, and a love for rural life.

The Donald and St Arnaud Show communities congratulate DustyRaiyn on an outstanding achievement and thank her for being a proud ambassador for our region.

Ashlea second in Cake Final

The Donald Show is celebrating sweet success after local baker Ashlea Wright claimed second place in the prestigious 2025 VAS Ltd Carrot Cake State Final, proudly sponsored by Rocky Lamattina & Sons.
