With a maximum forecast of seven degrees, five dedicated (or crazy) golfers hit the fairways in clearing drizzle to contest a stableford event played off the red tees.
It was a welcome return to form for the winner Lance Noonan, carding 33 points on the adjusted handicaps. Rob Cox claimed second place with 28 points, one clear of Paul Land and Jono Lebner. Tony Jarvis started the day with a fine birdie on the first but failed to capitalise.
This Sunday players will contest round one of the prestigious Phil Cribb Trophy – tee off is 12 noon with names in by 11.30am.

On Sunday, after three rounds of golf and braving wintry conditions, the ladies completed their annual Club Championships (best two of three rounds).
After a 12 month hiatus due to injury, it was great to see Ilma Clarke back to her best to win the A grade category with a gross score of 192/nett 146.
The B grade winner was Ros Sheather (gross 231/nett 158) with one of our new players, Tania McInnes (gross 272/nett 184), taking out C grade. The award for the lowest number of putts went to Joy Bennetts (55).
Congratulations to all players willing to brave the cold with a special thank you going to Graham Pfeiffer who ensured the course was in good condition for play.
There will be a special event this Sunday 22nd June when the Captain’s team will play the President’s team for the honour of holding the Norma Paton Cup.
Norma and her husband, Athol, were stalwarts of the club over many years. Norma’s hard work in both the administration of the club and the promotion of women’s golf was recognised by the naming of the trophy in her honour.
The event will be played over 18 holes with the team scoring the greatest number of stableford points being declared the winner.

We hope to see a big field of both lady and men golfers turn out for this unique event.
