A small school offering a real Aussie country education.
A fete, with all the trimmings, reflecting on 150 years of education is an event worthy of celebrating but it is also the ideal venue for a school reunion.
Emu Creek State School invites all students past and present to turn up any time after 10am on Saturday 31st May for what should be a wonderful day of reflection and enjoyment meeting old school friends and time to see how your old school has changed (and not changed) over the years. Not every school gets to reach the milestone of 150 years of service and Emu Creek School can be proud, not just of its longevity, but because of the quality of small country school education it has delivered over many years for generations of Emu Creek families.

Emu Creek School has survived periods when student numbers temporarily dropped, as in 2012 when there were only twelve students, but numbers have always recovered. Local families have constantly supported the school with some older families sending several generations of students to the school. In doing so the school has become a tradition for many families and this adds to the special nature of the school. Country schools such as Emu Creek offer for their students something different than city schools with rapidly growing suburbs and a transient population.
It is easy to take for granted the special qualities that Emu Creek School allowed its students to experience over many years.
Riding to school on horseback, whole school cricket matches, Picnic break-up days and being in the same classroom as your brothers and sisters are just a few of the small country school experiences. The 150th celebration of the school is a great time for past students (and people new to the area) to visit and reflect on what the school has achieved since it opened its classroom doors to students in 1875.
