Oldest man in Australia attributes long life to eating baked beans every day

The oldest man in Australia lives close to Richmond Valley – in Grafton.

Ken Weeks has been officially confirmed as the oldest Australian man ever – he is 111 years and 189 days old.

State MP Richie Williamson visited Ken at Whiddon aged care facility in Grafton.

Born in 1913, Ken’s life has been one of hard work and resilience.

From building wartime airfields to co-owning a car dealership and later running a local fish and chip shop in Grafton, Mr Williamson said.

Ken attributes his longevity to staying active and eating baked beans almost daily—yes, baked beans.

“Here’s to Ken, a remarkable man with a remarkable life,” Richie said.

“What an absolute Aussie legend.”
