Preparation for the Maldon Easter Fair and the 148th Easter Parade are underway and are set to fill the streets from Thursday 17 to Monday 21 April (in less than five weeks).
Events such as the Great Aussie Scone Bake, a Vintage Engine Rally and Dancing in the Street will feature as highlights once again.
However, on Thursday 13 March the organisers used social media to share their concern that a traffic management company had informed them that it would no longer provide its services to the parade. The famous ‘Grand Procession’ normally takes place on Easter Monday to great fanfare and has faced hurdles related its use of High Street, which has become a busy truck route in recent years.
The Easter Fair organisers have since updated the social media post to confirm that an alternative traffic management has been found and secured for the event.
