New app maps pesticide resistance across Australia

Recent stories

The Pesticide Resistance Integrated Mapping (PRIM) tool offers a clear view of pesticide resistance across Australia, helping growers and agronomists make data-driven crop management decisions.

Developed by the Centre for Crop and Disease Management (CCDM) with geospatial company NGIS through the Analytics for the Australian Grains Industry (AAGI) program, PRIM visualises fungicide resistance data and aims to expand to herbicide, insecticide, and biosecurity data.

CCDM Director Professor Mark Gibberd said PRIM is a user-friendly tool that highlights fungicide resistance nationwide, aiding profitable decisions on crops and chemicals. NGIS General Manager Matt Stewart added that PRIM will improve as more data is added, reducing guesswork for growers.

Currently covering four key pathosystems, PRIM will soon expand its scope. It will be showcased at the 2024 Crop Protection Forum on November 27 in Highfields, Queensland. Access PRIM at prim.ccdm.com.au.
