What is Scope all about? Scope is an all Australian women’s community service club. Any women over the age of 18 from all walks of life make up the membership.
Scope stands for Service Community Involvement Opportunity Education.
The club motto is “We Care.”
Since Scope formed in 1977 Australian Charities have benefited by donations through the Club’s National Project.
This is in addition to donations with local charities in the community.
Allora Scope is an important part of our local community and raises funds through their Op Shop, conducting raffles as well as supporting local organisations.
Members from New South Wales and Queensland attended the National Conference of Scope Club of Australia Inc held recently at Allora. The new President of National Scope Inc. is Shirley Scott from Ballina.
During the two day conference many issues were discussed including continuing the National Project dealing with Domestic Violence issues and offering support for victims. Local Scope member Daphne Whatley has the role of coordinator for the project.
Members of Allora Scope were thrilled to win the Elsie Kerr and Gerry Price Award again this year, based on income earned by the Scope Op Shop.
Next year the National Conference will be held in June at Mackay.
