Australians bought 69.8 million new books in 2023, 70.9 million in 2022, and 65.4 million in 2021.

In a world where there is so much competition for our attention, Australians continue to read, and we continue to read books written by Australians.

Now, you can access the books you want to read through the new ARR.News Bookstore.

Here at Australian Rural & Regional News we are proud of our book reviews and author interviews which give you an insight into a range of Australian fiction and non-fiction releases and their authors.

As always, we are focused on rural and regional Australia, so all the books featured have a connection to the vast expanse of our nation that lies outside the capital cities.

Of course, living in rural and regional Australia can make accessing books difficult, which is why online book sales are growing each year.

So, when you read a review on Australian Rural & Regional News, look for the link at the end to take you to our new ARR.News Bookstore where you can buy a copy of the book with a simple click of the button.

Australian Rural & Regional News Editor Fiona Fox is excited about the expansion.

“Since its inception on 26 January 2021, Australian Rural & Regional News has been proud to showcase a vast array of stories from and for the whole of rural and regional Australia,” she said.

“Our reviews showcasing Australian fiction and non-fiction and our interviews with the authors (sincere thanks to the Copyright Agency) are a valuable part of our offerings. The bookstore can give our readers the chance to order their own copy then and there. Our online store is also, I believe, the only one specialising in Australian books primarily with a rural and regional theme. Another first for Australian Rural & Regional News.

“It’s not only books we’ve reviewed though. Rebecca Rowlings, one of our great reviewers and now the ARR.News Bookstore guru, has compiled a fantastic collection of titles across a wide range of categories. The bookstore will only grow from here.

“Our eclectic team of reviewers, Rebecca, Serena Kirby, Dr Aedeen Cremin, Anita McInnes and occasionally that Kookaburra, are ready.”

You can find the ARR.News Bookstore here or follow the Store link on the ARR.News menu.
