Wentworth Show Society, Inc.

The Wentworth Show Society will be holding the 136th Annual show on 26 & 27 August, with the support of the community, competitors and exhibitors from local and far away. The township of Wentworth is situated in the best location for the best Show. It’s not too far from other states to travel and be part of a great weekend. The Wentworth Show continues on with the strength and support from its Committee of Management, the Stewards and many volunteers dedicated to make the Wentworth Show an event to be remembered.

This year the weekend with will packed with all the family favourite attractions including the Beaut Ute competition on Saturday for those passionate about their Ute or use them as a means of transport, come and show them off at the Wentworth Show. The pavilion will be filled with Produce and Preserves, Needlework and Photography.

Dinkum Dinosaurs will be coming along this year, making sure the kids giggle and laugh and Mr Spin will be performing a highly skilled, comic vaudevillian style street/circus act. Robby Bast will be sculpting with a chainsaw, some carvings over the show weekend. These will then be auctioned off on the Sunday afternoon of show weekend. Who knows you may be going home with more than a showbag!

This year we will be hosting two new competitions which are sure to attract many participants. Every hat has a story and we want to hear yours. Enter your “battered hat” in this year’s Wentworth Show along with a short one-page story of your hat! The more battered the better, the more interesting the better!

Hats will be displayed in the Great Hall at the Wentworth Visitor Information Centre and then on display at the outside wall of the Food and Wine Marquee at the Wentworth Showgrounds. The hats will be judged on character, panache and its story!

The Farmers Challenge will be one to watch and all ages can participate. Teams of 4 will run a relay race acting out key parts of local agriculture from (pretend) Sheep Shearing to Grape Crushing, then (pretend) Tractor Driving then finally taking part in some Horticulture. The race is sure to be entertaining.

Don’t forget to check out the Community Bank Wentworth & District Food & Wine Marquee filled with local produce, delicious treats to take home and food and wine to sample on the day!
