Gidgegannup Small Farm Field Day

Sunday, 28th May, 2023 – Gates open at 9.00am. $15 per adult, 16 and under free. No dogs permitted. Free Parking

This year the Honey Festival is with us again.   Much more space this time so expect this to be something special. There will be talks, demonstrations, competitions and special activities for children.  

The Slow Olive Festival is again with us with talks, demonstrations, sales of Olive Oil and Associated products.   Also some of the growers will be attending to share information on how to grow olives.

An amazing program once again – There will be dance – the Wadumbah Aboriginal Dance Group and also the Mad Tatters with their Morris dancing and fantastic costumes. There are camel rides , and the Dinosaur train. The Mounted Games will be on in the arena again. There will be Goats, Sheep, cattle, llamas and, of course, the Alpaca expo. The Bullsbrook Poultry Club will be having a young birds show.   

Lots of advice in the Livestock area on how to look after the wellbeing of your livestock and some of the regulations that are required by the Department of Agriculture.

The Discovery Trail will be there for the children along with the Bush Verandah potting paradise, Freedom Fairies will be helping them this year.. There are worm farms, Critters up Close, Stilt Walkers, Working Dogs, shearing. Entertainment in the Café/Entertainment area Puppeteers and Music.

There will be talks from Derryn Thorpe, Susa of Susas Garden Sanctuary, Nick Kelly on Regenerative farming and mixed farming, Dale Tilbrook about bushfood, Alyssa of The Natural Circle  David McFall on Biological Agronomy and Tim Eva on trees for the Hills. Talks over at the Honey and Olive Festivals as well.

Along with this there are all our great exhibitors with Machinery, Wine, Produce, and a huge range of other things. Also amazing food from local groups and our exhibitors. The Woodturners Association of WA will also be back again. Our Small Landholders’ Marquee will have lots of advice and answers to your questions. Also advice on how to manage your acreage in a sustainable way.

A day full of entertainment, advice and fun for everyone.
