Lismore City Council, Media Release, 3 April 2023

Holidaymakers hunting for accommodation over the Easter long weekend and school holidays are urged to book in Lismore and Nimbin for their stay.

Lismore City Mayor Steve Krieg said despite the challenging past year for accommodation providers in the area, there is now a wide variety to choose from.

“We have a great range of accommodation available around Lismore and Nimbin over the Easter holiday period, ranging from country cottages right through to motel rooms and camping grounds,” he said.

Lismore City Council’s Destination Coordinator Karen Hirst said accommodation properties are welcoming direct telephone bookings and the standard of accommodation is high.

“Lismore and Nimbin accommodation providers have worked hard to reopen, and in most cases, their properties have been completely refurbished with new furniture, fittings and facilities. Some are yet to update their websites or put their availability back online, but they are available by phone,” she said.

Lismore is perfectly positioned in the heart of the Northern Rivers region, on the doorstep to World Heritage National Parks. It is surrounded by eclectic hinterland villages and only thirty minutes to stunning coastal beaches spanning Evans Head, to Ballina and Byron Bay.

“Lismore is now bustling with top quality places to eat, funky boutiques, cultural experiences and entertainment to enjoy,” added Ms Hirst.
