It was the first time in 29 years that Narrandera has won the Shield.

Narrandera have been dominant all season and were dominant yet again in the final.

Lake Cargelligo won the toss and elected to bat, but were all out for 39 from 19 overs.

Narrandera’s bowlers were right on top, with Myles Scott leading the way, claiming 3 for 2.

Others to shine were Tom Pendergast 2 for 4, Emmett Smith 2 for 1, Ross Durnan 1 for 1, Nicholas Perram 1 for 5, Xavier Mohr 1 for 3.

When it came time to bat, Narrandera finished tallied 42, for the loss of only two wickets, in 13 overs.

Nicholas Perram scored 13 not out and Emmett Smith 9 not out. Coach Jono Schofield said Narrandera were incredible in the field and their bowling was outstanding.

“Our bowlers gave nothing away and our fielders took all catches to bowl out Lake Cargelligo for 39,” Scofield said.

Narrandera’s eight wicket win was their first Milliken Shield since 1993/94.

“It was a great performance by all players and as they have done all year, they played as a team with devastating force,” the coach said.

“These boys showed their talent, their will to learn and their will to win. It is fair to say that the game was won by a team of all outstanding performers.”
