Boxing and skateboard champ calls in to talk importance of looking after your mental health

In an effort to create awareness and support for mental health, and to be a reliable source for resources and information, Mental Health Week occurs annually in October in Australia.

This year, Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia NT (MIFANT) were fortunate enough to have the assistance of Louise ‘Bang Bang Lulu’ Hawton, former skateboarding champion, and two time World Champion Atomweight boxer, to get the mental health message across.

Lulu, a mother of two, visited town on Wednesday to share her story of her mental health struggles along with a few of her boxing moves with those who came along, a move that was very popular with the younger audience who were most impressed with her championship belts.
