In a world-first, livestock farmers will now have access to individual animal insights

Leading digital livestock management platform AgriWebb is now providing farmers with a revolutionary way to manage their animals with its new Individual Animal Management software product.

In solving the rising challenge facing the agriculture industry of producing high-quality protein, traceably, sustainably and at scale, AgriWebb’s new Individual Animal Management offering will provide a world-first — granular livestock data at a per-animal level.

This new approach will now allow farmers to increase the performance of animals, via accurate insights into weights, parentage, feed costs, medical treatments, and fertility history. For farmers, these insights, which reveal lifetime animal performance against inputs and costs, helps them to identify both over and under-achievers and use predictive modelling to plan for the future. This will allow them to reliably and consistently make informed management decisions to improve their operations’ profitability, productivity, and efficiency.

For the meat industry, this per-animal data will also ensure greater traceability for every animal entering the supply chain. Easily accessible and accurate records will reveal the full history of individual animal data, including treatment records, location data, and genetics. This will help to ensure food provenance, giving sheep and beef producers a competitive advantage in meeting more stringent t global industry standards and demands.

“In order to meet increasing demands for traceable and sustainable meat, we need to provide livestock farmers with a greater understanding of their operations and the way to do this is via accurate data at an individual animal level. Individual Animal Management is the next step in data-led agriculture and will deliver more efficient, profitable, and sustainable livestock operations. Beyond making the lives of farmers easier, this more granular, data-led approach will help to provide a more transparent and traceable supply chain while giving enhanced consumer confidence and satisfaction” said John Fargher, co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer, AgriWebb.

“We’re really about maximising returns from the resources we have, and that’s land and feed, for achieving this Individual Animal Management is an absolute game-changer. There’s been a lot of guesswork in selecting the best pastures for weight gain, so this enables us to be more confident with forward marketing decisions, rather than hoping cattle are still on track. It’s about being confident to forward sell, which is critical to our process” said Phil McGeoch, cattle trading operation owner, Wallendbeen and Cootamundra, NSW.

Individual Animal Management features:

  • Streamlined data collection: Livestock producers can collect valuable performance and welfare metrics throughout an animal’s time on the farm, simply using a phone or tablet wirelessly connected to existing hardware
  • Analysis of key animal traits: Interactive dashboards help users identify trends and make the right management decisions. Features such as predictive weight modeling make it easy to determine the best time to sell an animal
  • Unified view of performance: The ability to review complete historical performance data for individual animals, such as sale and purchase information, treatments, carcass data, weight gain performance, and other associated costs.

Recently, AgriWebb surveyed hundreds of its customers to understand the value it provides to livestock producers. Average users of AgriWebb report increased annual output productivity of 7.5% year-on-year.
