Graham West and his 70s Torana win West Coast Classic

Graham West did the car roof-top dance to loud cheers and applause when he took on some of the biggest, fattest race cars in his division while driving his Torana to win the SSA Modified Sedans West Coast Classic 2024  at Avalon Raceway ... The Torana is a car model that was popular in the 1970s.

Blast from the past – Tarrangower Tower advances Maldon

Australia Day, 26 January 2024, is the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Tower on the Mount. To mark this significant event, the Maldon Museum currently has a special exhibition on display, which includes interesting photos and maps.

Fires and then floods ”¦

Fires and floods–Central Victoria has copped it all in the past couple of weeks. Fire Brigades and the SES have been busy ... a fire in Maldon that involved a 36 volt lithium ion battery that was sitting on its charger, but was not plugged in.

On the lookout for fires

On days of high fire danger, you’ll find Rob Howe in the cabin on top of the Mount Tarrengower tower, on the lookout for fires.  This is his first year as the designated tower operator on top of Mount Tarrengower.

Stage right – a horse pops its head in. Stage left - baby goats await for their cue. On stage, a real baby sleeps in ‘Mary’s’ arms. ‘Joseph’ looks slightly perplexed. Bales of hay are propped.

Welcome to Maldon Community Pantry – open Christmas Eve

After little more than a month since opening, the Maldon Pantry is the go-to place in town. A collaborative project between Maldon Trinity Anglican Church and Maldon Neighbourhood Centre, the Maldon Pantry provides a variety of food items, including staples and treats, free of charge.
