Stock horses didn’t miss a beat as sunshine gave way to rain

Australia's own breed was out in force at the Moss Vale Australian Stock Horse Branch show at the Sugarloaf Equestrian Centre at Cobbitty, NSW. Organiser Jackie Long said the venue cannot be matched. “It is the best place to hold a show,” she said.

Allora Heritage Weekend on again

Previously it’s been hit by Covid and heavy rain but the popular Weekend still survives. Already plans are underway for the 2023 Allora Heritage Weekend to be held on 28th and 29th January. Visitors come from all over to enjoy a weekend in Allora and spend time browsing around the old machinery, vintage cars, trucks and bikes at the Showgrounds.

2022 Grafton Jacaranda Festival arrives

As vibrant explosions of mauve and lilac blossoms engulf the streets in a collage of colour each spring, we know the jacaranda season has arrived, and as a community, we come together to celebrate the Grafton Jacaranda Festival.  An esteemed annual event, rich in local history, culture and tradition, the oldest floral festival in Australia draws people from across the country, and the world, to the Clarence Valley each year.

Woodford Folk Festival

It was a joyful, heartfelt gathering at Woodfordia on Saturday night. Around 300 organisers, producers, staff, committee, volunteers and friends launched our programme for the festival this year. It felt like a new beginning.

Tennant Creek Brio showcase talent at NSW exhibition

The Tennant Creek Brio artists have recently returned from a successful exhibition in Byron Bay in New South Wales. Simon Wilson, Joseph Williams and Rupert Betheras showed off their cutting-edge artistic talents to the eastern states which was received with much applaud at Byron Bay’s Thom Gallery.

Maldon & Baringhup Agricultural Show 2022

The crowds flocked to the Racecourse Reserve for the Maldon & Baringhup Agricultural Show last Sunday, which was the first Show to be held following the Covid lockdowns of 2020 and 2021. Organisers were thrilled with the strong turnout, despite the fact that the horse events were cancelled at the last minute due to the soft condition of the ground.

Naracoorte Eisteddfod

Erica Boyington, Meredith Schinckel. August 12 and 13th saw fifteen young Naracoorte musicians travel plus one adult musician travel to Mt Gambier to compete in the music division of the Eisteddfod, held at Wehl Street theatre. An Eisteddfod is a wonderful opportunity for budding musicians to gain practice and confidence with performing, while benefitting from expert feedback.
