The Yass Show Society is proud to present the 163rd Yass Show on the 21st of March 2026!
Hosted at the beautiful Yass Showgrounds, the 2026 Yass Show will showcase our regional roots with a one-day traditional agricultural show program and two days of competition showjumping. Focused on championing our incredible Yass Valley region, the Show is an affordable family day out packed with things to see and do for all ages.
On Saturday, 21 March 2026 – gates at the Yass Showground will be open to the public from 8 am to 5 pm. Entry tickets can be purchased online or at the gate on the day. For online tickets – head to yassshow.org.au and follow the links! Spectator entry to the Sunday showjumping is free.
Returning to the Show this year is the hotly contested Dog High Jump and Pet Competition, the Giant Pumpkin Competition and the Decorated Wheelbarrow Competition! Plenty of ways for the family to get involved beyond our stalwart Pavilion Exhibits.
For the creative types we have the cooking section, jams and preserves, needlecraft, Lego competition, handicrafts, honey and art competitions. For those who have a green thumb – the fruit and vegetable section, plants and flowers and the decorated wheelbarrows – and make sure you keep a keen eye out for the wool judging!
Please see the Yass Show Society website for more information (including schedules, entry forms and entry details).
For the youngsters we will have a range of FREE activities from the team at Inflatables R Us including the adventure slide, rock climbing wall and much more! There will also be face-painting, a magician, balloons and an animal petting nursery all free of charge. And a delightful range of show bags will be available for purchase.
For those seeking action and entertainment – a day at the Show is not complete without the Shearing Competition, Woodchopping, Yard Dog Trials, horse events, a Championship Dog Show, Poultry, Cattle, and Merino, British Breeds and Black and Coloured Sheep Judging. For 2026, the Woodchopping prize money has doubled to a total of $4825.00 and in the Poultry Section, the ‘Bird of Show’ prize money has increased to $500.00!!
There will be working antique machinery, antique cars, and commercial exhibitors spread across the Yass Showgrounds. Food and drinks for purchase are provided by local community groups and vendors, and there will be local market stalls for those interested in some shopping.
As the grand old lady of the Yass Showgrounds, the Grandstand, is still undergoing a major restoration project (funded by the Australian Government through its Investing in Our Communities Program) it will not be available for public use or the Photography Competition. However! The Yass Show Society is excited to present the 2026 ‘Online Photography Competition’ – please see the Show website for more details.
We are eternally grateful for the continued support to the Show from our community, sponsors and our volunteers. Thank you!
