Worth the wait

Recent stories

Much needed rain yesterday put smiles on farmers’ faces and also gave them a reason to head along to the opening of the new A-G Warehouse Store in Corryong along with local residents.

More than 20 supplier partners were onsite ranging from seed, harvest supplies, fencing, animal health, farm supplies, workwear and stockfeed companies.

“It was a great opportunity for local people to come in and see our large range, speak to the experts and meet our Corryong team,” said store manager, Brooke Anderson.

The store revamp has been a long time in the making after first being mooted more than 10 years ago.

The construction of a new store on an adjacent site had been explored but did not proceed because of difficulties with approvals. However, the project was resurrected after the 2019-20 Black Summer Bushfires.

Upgrade enhances customer experience

A-G Warehouse was successful in obtaining bushfire recovery funding to complete a major fuel upgrade by adding increased storage, 24/7 access and generator back-up for security during power outages.

The upgrade was planned around what a reconstruction of the store would look like.

In early 2023 they ceased affiliation with IGA and removed grocery range from the business to focus on rural merchandise.

Demolition of the old store commenced in February 2025 while staff operated from temporary facilities.

The building was completed in July 2025.

It includes a new showroom with full reverse cycle heating and cooling to the entire area to dramatically improve customer experience.

It also has improved customer parking and access to the front of the building; a full length drive-through area to support produce customers with undercover loading.

The store has a dramatically improved visual appearance, site drainage and future flood mitigation.

In future years A-G Warehouse hopes to lobby for funding to enhance the sheds within the yard area to provide greater through access for large trucks.

The construction was contracted to regional business including plumbing by Browns Plumbing Corryong and civil works by Hillier Contracting Corryong.
