Cool breeze

Recent stories

There was a blue sky, low temperatures and a cool breeze for Cairn Curran Sailing Club on Saturday 6 July, when this glorious photo was taken.

The reservoir was aflutter with local sails for its Winter Series Club Race, which also included members of the Impulse Sailing Association who were visiting for a two-day training session. Winning names included Coquette, Voodoo and Taipan, while runners up included Bathsheba, Beast and Blind Mullet. It all sounds very rock ‘n’ roll cool but presumably with thermal underwear under the obligatory life-jackets.

After the racing, sailors debriefed and then enjoyed dinner together in the club house. The following day did not offer quite such lovely weather for the Impulse Association visitors, but the club reported: “Though the breeze was light the sun shone and race training continued successfully.”

Thank you to Cairn Curran Sailing Club and Sandy Scheltema for the photos, they highlight the diversity of landscape and activity in this wonderful region. Check out the fantastic website of Cairn Curran Sailing Club for more details of how to get involved and what the weather will be like when you sail. Visit: ccsc.org.au/home.
