Buyback sells for $347 at auction

Recent stories

Five buyback homes from Norton Street, Kyogle were up for auction on Tuesday, June 17.

PRD Real Estate Northern Rivers principal Rob Horder said the highest bid was $347 for 8 Norton Street. One house didn’t sell and one is under negotiation.

There were 15 bidders at the auction at Lismore Heights Bowling Club.

The houses at Norton Street, Kyogle are potentially difficult and more costly to move because of a low over pass bridge.

The cost of moving buybacks is the responsibility of the buyer.

Mr Horder said two of the Norton Street houses were in good condition internally.

“Some needed work,” he said.

More Kyogle buybacks are likely as the NSW Reconstruction Authority continues with buybacks.

Buybacks can be gifted to the owners or the owner’s family. Otherwise they go for auction with no reserves.

Mr Horder has been auctioning buybacks from Lismore, Woodburn and Murwillumbah.
