Goldfish racing brings community together

Recent stories

Australia Day was celebrated in style at Get Chopped Pub in Greenmount with the Smile for Sophie Goldfish Races attracting a large and joyous crowd.

Aside from the day’s main attraction, the goldfish racing, the grounds of Get Chopped were filled with a wide range of fun for the kids and food vans, including a jumping castle, petting zoo, face painting, snow cones, barbecue food, pizza, ice cream, hot spuds and nachos.

There were also multiple raffles and best dressed competitions held on the day. Funds raised will be donated to the Children’s Hospital Foundation.

With the support of the Greenmount community, Todd and Tamara Patch began the now annual tradition following the tragic passing of their infant daughter Sophie Grace Patch in late 2022.
