A storm front that ripped through the Upper Murray last Wednesday caused indiscriminate and varying degrees of damage, delivering rain falls of 10mm to 25mm.
The Corryong SES responded to a callout to clear a fallen poplar tree at Tintandra but a spokesperson said “We were relatively unscathed around the district.”
More extensive damage was caused at Towong where a large tree came down on either side of the township’s electricity transformer. Debris was also strewn along sections of the Murray Valley Highway.
At Nariel, the wind blew out the three roller doors on a shed which also damaged a vehicle. Some residences also lost parts of their roofs. Reports of storm damage were also notified by Biggara residents.
