After a sudden fire tore through the former Kurrajong Laundry Service building last month, the team at Kurrajong has remained resilient.

To continue providing their services, the laundry services are currently operating across multiple locations to take care of clients’ needs more efficiently.

According to Kurrajong’s General Manager of Commercial Enterprises, Michael Merrylees, they will continue to look for a more permanent location while continuing to run services.

“We are currently in the process of securing a permanent location for our operations. Once we finalise the details and have a concrete plan in place, we will communicate this to [the community],” he said.

“Right now, we are focused on running things as usual and providing great service in Narrandera and Leeton… We are always looking for ways to improve, but for now, its business as usual.”

All services and prices have remained the same; they continue to handle linen hiring and laundering for motels, hotels and clubs and also offer top-notch ironing with a fast turnaround time.

Mr Merrylees said resuming services had been exciting for their staff – they enjoy the work they do and have been providing the services for many years.

“The team is excited to be back! Its been a tough time, but we’ve got a lot of great memories here, and many of our staff have been with us for years. We’re feeling optimistic and ready to come back even better.”

There is still no definitive answer as to what caused the blaze that consumed their previous laundry building. However, Kurrajong is moving forward to continue providing services to the community.

The team at Kurrajong also wishes to express their gratitude to the local community who have supported them during this time, said Mr Merrylees.

“We want to thank our customers and the community for all the amazing support they have shown us. Your trust and encouragement have been invaluable to us,” he said.

“We are committed to keeping up the excellent service and look forward to continuing to serve you with the same care and dedication you’ve come to expect from Kurrajong Laundry Services.”
