A weekend of celebrations – Friday 19 and Saturday 20 April from 6:30pm
Araluen Arts Centre, Media Release, 15 April 2024
The 40th Anniversary performance of Duprada Dance Company at the Araluen Arts Centre will be a spectacular event showcasing the best of the best inspired from the past 40 years.
Music that Moves
Music that Moves is a story of movement, migration and music. Packed up and transported, by choice or by circumstance, four travellers arrive as strangers in a foreign land. They bring their heritage, baggage, stories, music and dance, but underlying this is also grief for a lost home.
Music that Moves began from our own families’ stories of migration and was further inspired by Shaun Tan’s graphic novel The Arrival. It is ultimately a celebration of home and community, where music and dance are gifts.
Duprada Dance Company is honored to be a part of Araluen Arts Centre celebrating 40 years together and proud of the rich history we share.
There is so much to celebrate with a bright future – thank you to our valued community, dancers, teachers, artists, lighting designers, sound and mechanist technicians, arts administrators, production and stage managers, our sponsors and audiences. – Lynne Hanton OAM – Artistic Director – Duprada Dance Company.
