Paroo Shire Council, Media Release, 17 January 2024

An exciting day in Cunnamulla today [17 January 2024] for the Paroo Shire Council and community with the official opening of the Cunnamulla Hot Springs and River Walk Project by the Leader of the Nationals and Member for Maranoa, the Hon. David Littleproud.

The facility, which overlooks the Warrego River, will be a unique experience for south west Queensland and is expected to attract many new visitors to the area. It will become part of the Shire’s newly formed Hot Springs Trail.

The Council also welcomes the Peninsula Hot Springs Group who will be operating this world class facility. The group has extensive experience in the hot springs and wellness industry both in Australia and overseas.

The $11.7M project was jointly funded by the Federal and Queensland State governments making it the largest funded project ever undertaken by the Paroo Shire Council other than roadworks.

The state-of-the-art precinct designed by Cox Architecture includes a steam room and sauna as well as seven different shaped artesian filled pools providing a variety of experiences.

It is projected the new facility will also benefit local businesses and create employment opportunities.
