Health service upgrades equipment

Recent stories

Following receipt of a grant, Corryong Health has replaced old and outdated equipment.

“We purchased new Olympus endoscopy equipment which will enable us to perform gastroscopies and colonoscopies in a more efficient manner,” said Tracey Damn, Day Procedure Unit manager.

“This equipment uses the latest technology and artificial intelligence to find and identify any abnormal lesions in the gastro-intestinal system,” she explained.

Visiting surgeon, Dr Daniel Chubb, added that “This new equipment is amazing to use and revolutionary because of the artificial intelligence that is at the forefront of medicine in this day and age.

“It is more up to date technology than what nearby agencies have.”

In other health news, the board received several applications for the second round of CEO recruitment and interviews commenced this week.

“The community will be updated at the conclusion of this recruitment round.” said Nicole Martin, interim CEO.

She also advised that masks are now a personal choice and are no longer required in clinical areas or Mittamatite Lodge unless people have Covid-like symptoms or have tested positive.

The Upper Murray and surrounding communities are also being invited to the next Corryong Health Community Town Hall meeting that will address frequently asked questions by the community.

Questions can be related to any of the services provided by Corryong Health and can be submitted online at: https://www. surveymonkey.com/r/YWP9M26.

Feedback boxes are also located at the Corryong Post Office, Corryong Neighbourhood Centre (CNC), Food Share, Elyne Mitchell Library and the Corryong Gym.
