Medico goes from sea change to tree change

Recent stories

The recent cold snap gave Corryong’s newest doctor pause for thought about the move from the Sunshine Coast to the Upper Murray but he says the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

Dr Tyson Pardon graduated from Griffith University in 2018 and has chosen Corryong Health as an introduction to General Practice (GP).

His particular interests include rural and remote medicine, emergency and anaesthetics.

“I was looking for a rural lifestyle to undertake my GP training and as luck had it, I met someone from Corryong on the Sunshine Coast and they told me about Corryong Health,” he said.

After visiting the region in November last year, Dr Pardon made the big move with his family – partner Claire and their three children Harvey (6), Adelie (4) and Luca (10 months).

“We like the outdoors, especially hiking and fishing and we’re also looking forward to taking the kids to the snow this year,” he said.

“The scenery here is so different and really colourful at this time of year but best of all, the people are so friendly.

“I’m really enjoying working at Corryong Health and I think it provides an above average service.

“It is certainly a great community asset.”
